Jessi,
Awesome article. Uber is at a point of inflection that they will either make a change at the top along with corporate culture and survive or in my opinion die a slow painful death.
Between the uprofessional Travis rank this week, the Google lawsuit for stealing technology, the use of “Greyball”, sexual harassment and crossing picket lines at JFK when all cab services stopped in solidarity it’s a company who’s culture will kill it. These events are what is publicly known, who knows what is hidden behind the walls and has yet to be made public.
The win at any cost mentally is and will be Uber’s downfall. Consumers do care and the market does have alternatives. This is the classic case of let the buyer beware.
Even with new leadership, Uber needs a culture shock that represents reality and reflects their customer base. San that, it’s going to be a very painful process.
