Thank you for writing a well thought out article. What the United States of America is experiencing is not the norm or beliefs held by the majority. This gaslighting tied to the persistent denial, misdirection, contradiction, and lying of the current office holder and resident of the White House and members of his administration is not representative of the population.

This is not America, nor representative of the founding principles. This country will survive the current attack on democracy and come out stronger as a result. If anything, I believe that many have learned that you cannot afford to be apathetic, your voice, your vote matters. The failure to exercise these resulted in current administration taking residence. This, ideally will serve as a wake-up call.

My apologies to your daughter, an American citizen for having to witness this dark period in American history. Together we will overcome.
